Why Green Products?

The "Green" movement and consumer demand for environmentally friendly products and services is more popular than ever. A number of national retailers are now requiring suppliers to produce goods in an environmentally responsible manner with packaging that is composed of post consumer waste. Many government procurement agencies are already on board. Tapecon has embraced the "Green" concept as well and works with suppliers who support the green initiatives.

Wind Energy
Wind energy is generated from the use of wind turbines, which use no fuel; therefore, they require no mining or drilling (one of the most damaging environmental impacts of fossil fuels). Wind electric generation produces no waste, no air pollution, no water pollution, and does not contribute to global warming.

The paper manufacturing process is known to consume large amounts of electricity, which has traditionally been generated via the combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas. In an effort to reduce emissions, some manufacturers have chosen wind energy as a renewable source of power in the manufacturing process. For more information, visit www.awea.org

Ancient Forest Friendly
The Ancient Forest Friendly certification initiative was founded in 1999 in an effort to protect the world's ancient and endangered forests. The organization aims to shift corporate demand - and use, from traditionally forested papers to ecologically sustainable paper products while reducing overall consumption.
