Supply Chain Maximization / Sales & Marketing
The Tapecon Sales & Marketing Team takes our mission and values to heart. We always strive to add value to our customers’ businesses and believe in building lasting relationships. We understand that “me too” and transactional based strategies can not deliver the “win-win” and lasting partnerships that are critical in today’s business environment.
Supply Chain Maximization (SCM)
In the context of a challenging economy with steep competition and rising costs, it is more important than ever to engage our customers at much deeper level. To capitalize on our strengths and to provide significant value-add to our customers, Tapecon has developed our “Supply Chain Maximization (SCM)” program.
So what is Supply Chain Maximization all about?
We first perform a customer account review. This is a meeting held with the customer, our Director of Sales and Sales Representative. We define the scope of customer requirements and define areas of “pain”. This is a no charge consultation.
We then schedule an internal kickoff meeting. A team of printing and converting experts including Tapecon’s: Director of Sales, Director of Lean & Green Supply Chain, Director of Marketing & Strategy, Director of Manufacturing, Logistics & Distribution Manager, Senior Estimator & Materials Specialist and the appropriate Product Specialist(s). In all, over 125 years of experience are represented by the team working on your project! At this meeting, the scope and action items are defined and a timetable is set.
The team then reviews the overall portfolio from “soup to nuts”:
- We analyze the total spend for printing, converting, shipping and soft dollar costs.
- We analyze the materials and consider opportunities for alternative materials and to leverage the overall raw material spend.
- We analyze production methods to leverage the best printing method (all digital and analog methods) and opportunities to combine press runs.
- We analyze the best die-cutting options including rotary, flexible, steel rule, plotter, and laser.
- We analyze the most appropriate supply chain methodology including: VMI, Min/Max, Kan-Ban, and Finished Goods Supermarkets.
- We analyze the most effective shipping methods.
- We analyze “soft dollar” costs such as inventory management, carrying costs, and obsolescence issues.
- We analyze the environmental issues associated with materials, shipping/emissions and waste.
The team then reconvenes to develop a customized proposal to deliver soft and hard dollar savings and add value to your business. Once the process has been completed, the Director of Sales and your Sales Representative schedule a meeting to formally present our proposal to you. This process is a guaranteed “win-win”.
Put our expertise to work for you. All that we ask for is a small investment of your time and a commitment to move forward with a proposal that you agree is worthwhile.
